The Hygiena Ultrasnap ATP surface testing device is a user-friendly, all-in-one ATP sampling device used with the SystemSURE Plus luminometer or the EnSURE multiple test system. This pen-sized sample collection device is easy to use, small and environmentally friendly compared to other ATP swabs.
In addition, Ultrasnap uses the world’s first liquid-stable reagent in place of the freeze-dried enzymes used in other ATP sampling devices. This provides better accuracy, longer-lasting signal strength and more reproducible results

The Hygiena SuperSnap is the most sensitive ATP test detecting extremely low levels of ATP. Used predominantly in the food and beverage processing facilities as an allergen cross-contamination prevention tool, the ATP surface testing device is a user-friendly, all-in-one ATP sampling device used with the SystemSURE Plus luminometer or the EnSURE multiple test system. Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP) TESTING
The first generation ATP tests were derived from hygiene monitoring applications and therefore the samples were relatively free of interferences. The second generation tests are designed specifically for industrial applications, wastewater, and water. In the second generation ATP tests the samples contain, for the most part, a variety of interfering components.
There are two types of ATP within a water sample containing microorganisms:
- Extracellular ATP, which is located outside of biological cells. The extracellular ATP has been released from stressed or dead organisms.
- Intracellular ATP, which is contained inside the living biological cells.
It is important to perform accurate measurements of these two types of ATP in order to assess biological health and to control water and wastewater processes.
The SystemSURE Plus luminometer (in conjunction with the Aquasnap or Ultrasnap ATP swabs) uses bioluminescence to detect residual ATP as an indicator of cleanliness.
The presence of ATP indicates the presence of contamination on surfaces and in water, including food residue, allergens and/or bacteria.
This implies a potential for the support of bacterial growth.
