Ultrafiltration & Microfiltration
Ultrafiltration (UF) and microfiltration (MF) are advanced membrane filtration technologies used for removing suspended solids, pathogens, and fine particulates from water. Ultrafiltration membranes have extremely fine pores, as small as 0.01 microns, which effectively block bacteria, viruses, colloids, and other high molecular weight contaminants, while allowing clean water and low molecular weight solutes to pass through. Microfiltration, with slightly larger pore sizes, is ideal for removing turbidity, sediment, and larger particles.
These membrane filtration systems are widely used in potable water treatment, industrial water filtration, and wastewater applications. Compared to conventional methods like clarifiers and media filters, ultrafiltration and microfiltration offer a reliable barrier, superior water quality, and higher tolerance to variations in feed water quality.
By using UF and MF technology, water treatment systems can ensure consistent removal of pathogens, turbidity, and impurities, providing safe, clean, and high-quality water for both residential and commercial applications.
