LAVASOL™

Lavasol™ liquid membrane cleaners effectively remove a wide variety of foulants from polyamide thin-film composite and cellulose acetate membranes. Each cleaner dilutes quickly and easily to form a solution that vigorously removes membrane foulants without harming the membrane surface. A regular maintenance program including Lavasol membrane cleaners ensures optimum system performance and maximum element life. Our Lavasol product line includes eight formulations designed to serve varying system needs.

USES

  • For use on reverse osmosis (RO), nanofiltration (NF), ultrafiltration (UF) and micro-filtration (MF) membranes
  • For effective removal of silica fouling from polyamide membrane elements
  • When simple alkaline cleaning does not produce a clean membrane surface Lavasol™ 5 should be applied
  • Will also dissolve inorganic scales as Lavasol™ 5 is an acidic formulation

LAVASOL™ 6

Lavasol™ 6 is a low pH (acidic) liquid formulation, combining select chelants and solubilising agents to remove metal hydroxides, calcium carbonate, calcium phosphate and other similar scales. Lavasol™ 6 provides broad spectrum scale removal, and is ideal for situations where limited information is available on foulant make-up. The Benefits of Reverse Osmosis Membrane Cleaning Chemicals

Reverse osmosis (RO) membranes are used to remove impurities and contaminants from water, making it suitable for a variety of industrial, commercial, and residential applications. However, over time, the membrane can become fouled with organic and inorganic materials, reducing its effectiveness and lifespan. This is where reverse osmosis membrane cleaning chemicals come in. Here are some of the key benefits of using these chemicals:

Maintain membrane efficiency: RO membrane cleaning chemicals can help remove fouling agents from the membrane, which can restore its efficiency and extend its lifespan. By using these chemicals on a regular basis, you can maintain the performance of your RO system and avoid costly replacements.

Prevent bacterial growth: Over time, bacteria can grow on the surface of RO membranes, which can lead to biofouling. This can reduce the effectiveness of the membrane and lead to contamination of the treated water. RO membrane cleaning chemicals contain antimicrobial agents that help prevent bacterial growth, ensuring that the water remains safe for use.

Improve water quality: A fouled RO membrane can reduce the quality of the treated water, leading to unpleasant odors and tastes. RO membrane cleaning chemicals can help remove impurities and contaminants from the membrane, resulting in improved water quality.

Save money: By using RO membrane cleaning chemicals, you can avoid the need for costly replacements of the RO membrane. Regular cleaning can also improve the efficiency of the RO system, resulting in lower energy costs.

Increase uptime: A fouled RO membrane can lead to system downtime, which can be disruptive and costly. By using RO membrane cleaning chemicals, you can reduce the risk of downtime and ensure that your system operates at peak efficiency.

In conclusion, reverse osmosis membrane cleaning chemicals are essential for maintaining the efficiency and lifespan of RO membranes. They help prevent bacterial growth, improve water quality, save money, and increase uptime. If you have an RO system, it is important to use these chemicals regularly to ensure that your system operates at peak efficiency and provides high-quality treated water.
