Description

ATP Testing Swabs( Surface and Liquid)

 Ultrasnap ATP Surface Test

Package Size: 100 tests per box

The Hygiena Ultrasnap ATP surface testing device is a user-friendly, all-in-one ATP sampling device used with the SystemSURE Plus luminometer or the EnSURE multiple test system. This pen-sized sample collection device is easy to use, small and environmentally friendly compared to other ATP swabs.

In addition, Ultrasnap uses the world’s first liquid-stable reagent in place of the freeze-dried enzymes used in other ATP sampling devices. This provides better accuracy, longer-lasting signal strength and more reproducible results

Device Design:
    •    Easy-to-use, all-in-one device

•    Snap-Valve™ technology – snap & squeeze

•    Premoistened swab bud

•    Self-contained, liquid-stable reagent

•    Write-on swab label

•    100 tests per case

Aquasnap ATP  Water Test

Aquasnap is a user-friendly, self-contained ATP water sampling device used with the SystemSURE Plus luminometer. This pen-sized sample collection device is easy to use, and collects 100 µl of water in the honeycomb-shaped dipper.
Aquasnap uses the world’s first liquid-stable reagent in place of the freeze-dried enzymes used in other ATP testing devices. This provides better accuracy, longer-lasting signal strength and more reproducible results.

Aqusnap comes in two configurations:
AquaSnap Total: For detection of living and non-living organisms
AquaSnap Free: For detection of non-living organisms’

Device Design:

  •     Easy-to-use
  •     Snap-Valve™ technology – snap & squeeze
  •     Honeycomb-shaped collection tip (100 µl)
  •     Self-contained, liquid-stable reagent
  •     Write-on swab label
  •     Bottle of ATP extractant
  •     100 tests per case

Adenosine Triphosphate  (ATP) TESTING

Adenosine triphosphate (ATP) is an enzyme that is present in all living cells, and an ATP monitoring system can detect the amount of organic matter that remains after cleaning an environmental surface, a medical device or a surgical instrument. Hospitals, medical facilities and Nursing Homes are using ATP-based sanitation monitoring systems to detect and measure ATP on surfaces as a method of ensuring the effectiveness of their facilities’ sanitation efforts. The amount of ATP detected, and where this ATP was detected, indicates areas and items in the healthcare setting that may need to be recleaned, and the possible need for improvement in a healthcare facility’s cleaning protocols.

Until now, hospitals and healthcare facilities have relied primarily on visual inspections to determine the hygienic status of a surface. However, more and more facilities are finding that visual inspections alone cannot reliably determine the presence of surface contamination when many soils such as bacteria, biofilm and organic residues are not visible to the naked eye. The ATP System does detect the presence of any organic contamination you cannot see. This technology is transforming the practice of environmental hygiene and provides healthcare facilities with a real-time assessment tool.

ATP (adenosine triphosphate) is present in all organic material and is the universal unit of energy used in all living cells.

ATP is produced and/or broken down in metabolic processes in all living systems. Processes such as photosynthesis in plants, muscle contraction in humans, respiration in fungi and fermentation in yeast are all driven by ATP. Therefore, most foods, water and microbial cells will contain some level of naturally occurring ATP.

Structure of ATP

Adenosine Triphospahte (ATP) present in all organic tissue

The first generation ATP tests were derived from hygiene monitoring applications and therefore the samples were relatively free of interferences. The second generation tests are designed specifically for industrial applications, wastewater, and water. In the second generation ATP tests the samples contain, for the most part, a variety of interfering components.

There are two types of ATP within a water sample containing microorganisms:

  1. Extracellular ATP, which is located outside of biological cells. The extracellular ATP has been released from stressed or dead organisms.
  2. Intracellular ATP, which is contained inside the living biological cells.

It is important to perform accurate measurements of these two types of ATP in order to assess biological health and to control water and wastewater processes.

The SystemSURE Plus luminometer (in conjunction with the Aquasnap or Ultrasnap ATP swabs) uses bioluminescence to detect residual ATP as an indicator of cleanliness.

The presence of ATP indicates the presence of contamination on surfaces and in water, including food residue, allergens and/or bacteria.

This implies a potential for the support of bacterial growth.
