Description-Polypropylene String Wound Sediment Filters
Our replacement polypropylene string wound sediment filter cartridges coreless design is an economical solution to pre-filtration for many applications. Polypropylene String Wound Cartridges are used widely as pre-filtration for RO systems and post-filtration for GAC filters. Also used in applications such as Ice Machines, Film Processing, Beverage, Coffee, Analytical, Wineries, and many other applications.
Polypropylene String Wound Cartridges are manufactured from a durable polypropylene cord that is wound around a rigid polypropylene core. They are an economical solution to reduce fine sediment, including sand, silt, rust and scale particles. Polypropylene String Wound Cartridges are wound in a precise pattern around the core, providing greater surface area. The result is higher dirt loading capacity and greater efficiency than standard wound cartridges. These string-wound cartridges are capable of withstanding temperatures up to 45°C), and will accommodate higher flow rates with minimal pressure drop. Polypropylene String Wound Cartridges are suitable for a wide variety of sediment filtration applications, including municipal and well water as well as many industrial fluids.
We offer standard filter cartridge sizes including the jumbo cartridges and various micron sizes up to 100 Micron ( 10″x2.5″)
Some Considerations for bacteria removal:
Bacteria range in size from 0.2 to 2 microns in width or diameter and from 1 to 10 microns in length for the non-spherical specie, so a 1-micron filter will remove most bacteria and cysts. If you are on municipal water, the water has already been treated with chlorine, chloramines and/or fluoride to remove bacteria, so chances are you do not have a bacteria problem, unless there is a problem with the water pipes between the water reclamation plant and your home. Although many customer purchase the 1-micron absolute for the kitchen because it can remove some pharmaceutical drugs, too,
If you are on well water and have a bacteria problem, installing a 1-micron absolute water filter at the point of use will remove most of the bacteria (99.9%), however, if your water has tested positive for bacteria, it is safer to include an additional disinfection system like ozone or UV. For residual protection a chlorine injection stage or chlorine erosion feeder is recommended.
Available Sizes : 10″ x2.5″, 10″ x4.5″, 20″ x2.5″. 20″x4.5″ (Big Blue) Fits all standard filter housings.
