Need to recommission your water systems quickly and safely? Hydrosense can help speed up the recommissioning process and mitigate risk for you and your clients by providing accurate ultra-fast results for the most dangerous strain of Legionella – Legionella penumophlia SG1.
Hydrosense Vs. Standard Recommissioning Procedures
Full (MAINS) or Single System Disinfection (DC/HWS)
STANDARD RECOMMISSIONING PROCEDURE (WITH LAB CULTURE ONLY)
- Day 1: Carry out full (mains) or Single System Disinfection (DC/HWS).
- Day 3: Take a sample and send it to the lab for analysis.
- Day 10-17: Receive Legionella results from the lab. Assess and Survey systems if result if positive. Discuss reopening if result is negative (always perform normal safety checks prior to reopening).
- Day 11-18: Carry out remedial work.
- Day 14-21: Take sample and send it to the lab for analysis.
- Day 28-35: Receive Legionella results from the lab. Repeat entire process from system disinfection if result is positive. Discuss reopening if result is negative (always perform normal safety checks prior to reopening).
ACCELERATED RECOMMISSIONING PROCEDURE WITH HYDROSENSE
- Day 1: Carry out full (mains) or Single System Disinfection (DC/HWS).
- Day 3: Take samples and run Hydrosense tests, receive Legionella pneumophlia SG1 results after 25 minutes. Assess and Survey systems if result if positive. Discuss reopening if result is negative (always perform normal safety checks prior to reopening), if required run a lab test before reopening.
- Day 4: Carry out remedial work.
- Day 7: Take samples and run Hydrosense tests, receive Legionella pneumophlia SG1 results after 25 minutes. Assess and Survey systems if result if positive. Discuss reopening if result is negative (always perform normal safety checks prior to reopening), if required run a lab test before reopening.
Flush and Sample
STANDARD RECOMMISSIONING PROCEDURE (WITH LAB CULTURE ONLY)
- Day 1: Flush system, take sample and send it to the lab for analysis.
- Day 8-15: Receive Legionella results from the lab. Assess and Survey systems if result if positive. Discuss reopening if result is negative (always perform normal safety checks prior to reopening).
- Day 9-16: Carry out remedial work, take sample and send it to the lab to assess effectiveness.
- Day 16-30: Receive Legionella results from the lab. Repeat entire process from flush system if result is positive. Discuss reopening if result is negative (always perform normal safety checks prior to reopening).
ACCELERATED RECOMMISSIONING PROCEDURE WITH HYDROSENSE
- Day 1: Flush system, take samples and run Hydrosense test. Receive Legionella pneumophlia SG1 results after 25 minutes. Assess and Survey systems if result if positive. Discuss reopening if result is negative (always perform normal safety checks prior to reopening), if required run a lab test before reopening.
- Day 2: Carry out remedial work, take samples and run Hydrosense tests. Receive Legionella pneumophlia SG1 results after 25 minutes. Assess and Survey systems if result if positive. Discuss reopening if result is negative (always perform normal safety checks prior to reopening), if required run a lab test before reopening.
Lockdown restrictions have created many low or no maintenance systems with low flow, where multiple flushes or disinfections may be required to get back to normal operating conditions. Hydrosense accelerates recommissioning with results in 25 minutes as opposed to 2 weeks through lab culture, facilitating ultra-fast validation of flushing/disinfection, so you can get back to ‘business as usual’ quickly, and safely.
