WATER TESTING KITS
Do you know what is in your water?
An increasing amount of Australians are relying on private water supplies either to supplement their municipal water supplies, or entirely. Some private water users may also alternate between different water sources like rain water and dam water. With our more extreme weather we are forced to become more resourceful in using our water supplies irrespective of quality. For all those not sure what is in the water, it is essential to conduct water testing. Water Testing kits are a useful and economical solution to test your private water supplies. These water testing kits are very user friendly, that can be used by anyone- even those with a limited understanding of water chemistry. The water testing kits also include coliform and E Coli bacteria tests. These water testing kits have been customised to specific water tests for instance tank/well/bore water test kit.
It should be noted that environmental factors should also be considered. If you are near an antimony mine, chances are that you rain water may be affected by the dust. Water supplies can be polluted by sewage, seepage from septic tanks, animal faeces, intensive farming practices (e.g. fertiliser, manure and pesticides), blue-green algae and industrial wastes. These pollutants can introduce disease-causing microorganisms or harmful chemicals into the water. Also pollution with leaves and other organic materials which contain nutrients encourage microorganisms to grow at a faster rate.
DRINKING WATER GUIDELINES
The Australian Drinking Water Guidelines (ADWG) was developed by the National Health and Medical Research Council and provides a framework for good management of drinking water supplies. They are designed to provide an authoritative reference on what defines safe, good quality water, how it can be achieved and how it can be assured. They are concerned both with safety from a health point of view and with aesthetic quality. The ADWG are not mandatory standards, however, they provide a basis for determining the quality of water to be supplied to consumers in all parts of Australia.
Types of Water Testing Kits

The Tank/Well/Bore Water Test Kit contains everything you will need to simply and accurately test water from your Water Tank, Water Well or Bore for unsafe or undesirable levels of one or more of the 15 common parameters: Alkalinity, Bacteria (Coliforms), Chlorine (Free), Copper, Hardness (Total), Iron, Lead, Mercury, Nitrates, Nitrites, Pesticides, pH and Sulphate.
The Home water testing kit is an easy to use test for 9 different water quality parameters in order to check for more common inorganic contaminants, other properties including pH and alkalinity, as well as microbiological flora in your water supply.
This Do-it-yourself Home Drinking Water Test Kit contains the tests you will need to simply and accurately test your drinking water for unsafe or undesirable levels for each of the 9 most commonly found parameters: Alkalinity, Bacteria (Coliforms), Chlorine (Free), Copper, Hardness (total), Iron, Nitrates, Nitrites, and pH. This kit, designed for Home Drinking water is accurate, easy-to-use, and produces results on the spot.
The inexpensive Complete Home Water Quality test kit allows you, in a few simple steps, to determine if your water contains harmful or undesirable levels of bacteria, lead, copper, iron, pesticide, chlorine, nitrate, nitrite, pH and hardness.
For those who prefer to have a laboratory do the testing for them, there is the option to send the water samples to our laboratory for testing. We can recommend what parameters to test for and provide a quote. For guidelines on testing refer to :
